Cookies Policy

Last updated: February 20, 2026

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They help the website remember your preferences and activity over a period of time, so you don't have to re-enter them whenever you come back or navigate between pages.

2. How We Use Cookies

LPO ("Livestock Transit Pro") uses cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

2.1 Essential Cookies

These cookies are necessary for the Platform to function and cannot be disabled:

  • Authentication: Session cookies managed by NextAuth.js to keep you signed in and maintain your session across pages
  • Security: CSRF (Cross-Site Request Forgery) tokens to protect against unauthorized actions
  • Preferences: Cookies that remember your sidebar state, active tab, and other UI preferences

2.2 Functional Cookies

These cookies enhance your experience on the Platform:

  • User preferences: Remembering your role (shipper or driver), dashboard layout, and notification settings
  • Form data: Temporarily storing form inputs so you don't lose data if you navigate away

2.3 Analytics Cookies

These cookies help us understand how users interact with the Platform:

  • Performance monitoring: We use Sentry-compatible error tracking (GlitchTip) to monitor Platform performance and identify technical issues
  • Usage patterns: Understanding which features are used most helps us improve the Platform

3. Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies are placed by third-party services that we use to operate the Platform:

  • Stripe: Our payment processor may set cookies for fraud prevention and payment processing
  • Google: If you sign in with Google, Google may set cookies related to authentication
  • Mapbox: Our mapping provider may set cookies for location services and map rendering
  • DocuSign: Our e-signature provider may set cookies during the contract signing process

These third parties have their own cookie policies. We encourage you to review them:

4. Cookie Duration

Cookies on our Platform fall into two categories based on how long they last:

  • Session cookies: Deleted when you close your browser. Used for authentication and temporary session data.
  • Persistent cookies: Remain on your device for a set period (or until you delete them). Used for remembering preferences and login sessions across visits. Our authentication tokens have configurable expiration periods.

5. Managing Cookies

You can control and manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • View which cookies are stored and delete them individually or in bulk
  • Block cookies from specific websites or all websites
  • Set your browser to notify you when a cookie is being set
  • Disable all cookies entirely

Important: Blocking essential cookies will prevent you from signing in and using the Platform. If you disable these cookies, features like authentication, load posting, bidding, messaging, and payment processing will not work.

6. Local Storage & Session Storage

In addition to cookies, we use browser local storage and session storage for:

  • Caching UI state (sidebar collapsed state, active navigation tab)
  • Temporarily storing form data during multi-step processes (load posting, account setup)
  • Storing authentication tokens (JWT access and refresh tokens)

These storage mechanisms are subject to the same controls as cookies and can be cleared through your browser settings.

7. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Cookies Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision.
